Chase's new trick

Chase has never been slow at anything except gaining weight.  (He tips the scale at 27 pounds!) He rolled over when he was weeks old, walked at 10 months, talked circles around his peers, potty trained before 3 years old, and now he is riding his bike without training wheels!
Daniel took his training wheels off this afternoon.  After an extremely short lesson on starting and stopping, Chase took off.  We went for our family walk with no problems.  He fell down a few times trying to get off his bike after he was stopped.  He just jumped up and said, "I am a tough guy."
It seems like just yesterday we took Carter's training wheels off.  I remember how I couldn't stop thinking about how much he had grown up.  Now, Chase is all grown up on two wheels. Good thing we have another one on the way to teach later!

Tough Guy

Daniel is jealous.  He says he always wanted a black eye.  Carter succeeded.  This picture was taken a week later.  It was much worse.  While playing at a ward party Carter ran into a chair. Daniel told Carter to tell people his mom hit him.  I am so glad Carter didn't listen.  I can only imagine how CPS would have reacted!  Especially since he is missing his two bottom teeth also.

I'm 4

Chase had a birthday party with a few friends on Monday.  We went to the local pool...VERY COOL.  Then he had friends come to the house for pizza, cake, and ice cream.
Chase loves to swim, but he is so skinny that he doesn't last long in the pool.  He gets too cold.
Walmart provided his cake for us... I was just too lazy to do it myself. (Excuse the belly, ponytail, and lack of makeup.   I don't know how to get ready at all anymore.)
Chase gets to be a real cowboy now, just like Grandpa.  He has his own guns.  They are cap guns, and we bought lots of caps.

Happy Birthday Chase!

My darling Chase.  Oh, how I have fallen in love with you.  You are the cutest little man!  It is does crazy things to my heart to think about how big you have gotten, even though you have been my little tiny.  You know just how to treat your mama to make her melt right into your hands.
This Year you have grown up so much!  Sometimes I have a hard time believing it has been 4 years since you were born.  This year you have really matured.  You can buckle yourself into your own car seat, drive the little tykes hummer like a pro, hit the ball over our back fence, and ride a two wheeled scooter with no problems.  You have also almost grown out of the whining and stopped riding in the stroller.  You play so well on your own.  I always tell people I am so lucky because my kids are so easy to take care of.  Thank you for making my job enjoyable and easy.
I am sorry I wasn't there this morning when you woke up for your birthday, but after a weekend away I will have plenty of energy to make it up to you!   You daddy and I love you so much!  You will have a great party tomorrow!

Mothers Day

Carter gave me the cutest Mothers Day present.  He made it in school.  It is a book!  The first page says.  I love you so much because you bake me chocolate chip.  You take care of me when I am Sick. Love, Carter.  The second page says...

All about you Mom!
My mom's name is Mary
She is 28 years old.
She weighs 35 pounds.
Her shoe size is 28.
She has reddish brownish hair
Her favorite food is enchiladas.
Her favorite color is pink.
Her favorite T.V. show is The Biggest Loser.
Her biggest wish is to have the best kid in the world and
when she had me her wish came true.
Her best friend is Kelly.

I laughed my head off.  35 pounds!!!!!!!  Wow, that would be skinny.  Size 28 in shoes....ummmm  maybe in some other country.  Ok, but really, My biggest wish is to have the best kid in the world and he made it come true.  I am so glad he knows that he means that much to me, and in a way I did have one of my biggest wishes come true.  This pregnancy has caused me to be really moody.  I am not normally so crazy.  It is taking its toll on my family.  Instead of yelling at everyone all of the time I go to my room.  Thus, everyone and everything are being ignored.  I am trying to do better, but I have always been pretty even tempered so this is craziness for me.
Only a few more months family!

Pat's Run 2009

This year I had a crazy idea to run/walk the Pat Tillman Run.  A friend of mine had decided to run it already and we made it into a family ordeal.  Lisa ran and I jogged/walked 4.2 miles!  Lisa has been inspirational in becoming healthy.  I was excited to participate in her first run with her.  Then later Daniel and Lisa's husband Danny....(I know another Dan name) ran the kids run of .42 miles with the kids.
Lisa and I didn't have a camera at the finish line.  A nice guy took the picture below and emailed it to my junk email.  I was happy to have a junk email today.  Here we are smiling super big and proud.

We even finished faster than I had expected!

The kids were so pumped for their race!  They could barely wait to get started.  They both ran the entire way.  Chase finished in 2 minutes and 26 seconds.  I think the course was a little less than .42 miles because I really don't think my 3 year old can run a 6 minute mile!

After the race we went into the Tillman Tunnel.  They had the locker room blocked off, but you could see inside.  They have a tribute to Pat on the walls.

Today has been a long day, but it has been really fun!   Oh, and in case you are wondering...I don't recommend run/walking a 4.2 mile race at 21.5 weeks pregnant.  My feet hurt so bad! Plus, I got the weirdest looks.....even though Lisa said it was all in my head.

Easter of course!

I can't believe it is Easter already.  It seems like this year is flying bye!  That is probably because we have so much and so little going on at any given moment.  Our family really enjoyed being together this holiday season.  The boys got along well.  Saturday night we colored Easter eggs.  The boys thought the plastic coating was a cool thing this year.  Then, Sunday morning we woke up to the boys sneaking around the house.  The boys are not allowed to leave their rooms on holidays until we come and get them!  They had looked in the fridge to discover their colored eggs were still there.  Apparently, they ran back to their rooms very fast because they saw a SHADOW!  LOL!  It was they Easter bunny...they just knew it.  Chase said, "It was scary with large claws!"  I love my boys.
This is the best picture I have of Carter on Easter day.  He smiles really funny when I try to get a good picture of him.
This is Chase showing off the only pick egg the boys would let me dye.  Silly boys!  Next year I am sure we will have more "girl" colors...the boys can't wait to spoil her already.
