BYU FRIENDS!

I was looking at some pictures on the Knudsons blog and noticed how big sam is getting.  We were really good friends with the Knudson's when we lived at BYU.  Look how small and cute they are!

This is Maile and Carter. (I hope I spelled that right).  They lived in our ward at BYU.  We all lived in BYU student housing and the houses are so close together with a park in the middle, so we were able to see our friends almost everyday!

This is Carl and Carter.  Carl's mom and aunt went to high school with me.  I still get to see Carl once or twice a year and ironically always on his birthday.  (I don't go to GV on his birthday on purpose.  It just works out that way)

And there couldn't be a BYU picture without Jenn and her kids.  This picture is actually taken here in CA.  Jenn and I have been following each other.  We like to live close.  I have been trying to convince her to move to Arizona with me.  Now she needs to convince her husband :)  Housing is much more affordable there!

Palmer West 5K and 10K

This weekend was the First Palmer West 5K/10K.  Daniel and I were really excited to participate.  Daniel had the idea for the school to start an annual race a few months ago...I guess he whispered in the right ear. I had planned to Run the 10K with Daniel, but i have been struggling with shin splints....ahhh.  So I decided to walk the 5K instead.  I ended up running the 5k because I was annoyed having to walk.  Daniel ran the 10K.  

Here we are together after the race!  Daniel had already changed to provide Chiropractic care for other runners.  He was hurting though.
Aren't these t-shirts cool?!?  I love them.  They are great dri-fit shirts that do not have too many advertisements on back.
So this is my TROPHY!  I fell about half way.  Good thing I didn't really get hurt...nice knee shot!  Daniel and I have really enjoyed running together, and we plan to sign up for another race and keep going!

Daddy's Spring Break

Opening Day for Little League

Saturday was OPENING DAY for little league.  First each team took team and individueal pictures.  We will get those back in 4 weeks.  Then each team participated in a hit-a-thon.  Then they had opening ceremonies, which we skipped :)  Carter was so dang cute.  I can't believe how handsome he looks in his jersey.

Carter is on the Lugnuts.  Their mascot is an elephant, and the elephants trunk is scrunched into a bolt.
The team mom for Carter's team had their names put on the back of their jerseys.   There is #2...Carter Rae...getting ready to hit for the Branham Hills Lugnuts!
He smashed the ball.  There were circles on the field and and they won pries if the got the ball in a circle.  Carter came really close, but didn't make it.  He was pretty bumbed out.  I was going to take him to ice cream anyway but he has forgotten about it now.

This is Carter's team in the dugout all lined up.  I wasn't really supposed to be in there taking pictures, but I snuck in.  The boys are so excited to start their baseball season.  Today is there first game.  I promised in my last blog there would be quite a few baseball pictures.  There are 2 games and possibly a practice every week.  We are breathing, eating, and sleeping baseball right now, and none of us could be happier.

I feel like I haven't taken pictures for a long time. We have been really busy though. Carter had his first dental appt. I know...I know...how could I have let him go that long? Well, he had two cavities. I already knew he had them. I have a mirror and explorer at home and I found them over a year ago. He was really good at the dentist. He hated the toothpaste but loved the "vacuum" He goes back for his filling soon. Carter is also playing little league this year. There will be plenty of little league pictures because we will being doing little league 3 days per week! I know we are crazy
Chase has been doing so well with potty training. I can't believe how easy he was. We are almost done with diapers at night even. I love being diaper free. Chase also loves preschool. Everyone is always really impressed that he goes without even the slightest fight. The high school kids are really good with him too. He loves to paint!
Danie is studying hard for part 2 and 3 of his national boards. I am really proud of him. He is doing so well in school. He is a great chiropractor. It is nice to have him at my fingertips. He is so patient with me and all my aches and pains...thanks huney!
I am in school full-time! I am very proud of myself also. It isn't easy going full-time with 2 kids at home, but I am enjoying myself. I am even taking a guitar class. I won't say I can play the guitar yet, but I am learning. One day I will post a song of me playing....at the end of the semester.

Mini Vacation

We have been planning a mini vacation to my parents house in Grass Valley, CA for a month now. We needed some time to do fun things as a family. We went down to bridgeport where they have an old wooden covered bridge. I did get a picture of it, but carter looks extra funny so you don't get to see it. The bridge goes over the Yuba river where I used to go swimming as a kid. We crossed the bridge a noticed a 1 mile trail to Engelbright Lake and thought what the heck.

The kids were such sports. The were jumping and trying to run the trail. Carter kept saying he wasn't having fun, but he was really enjoying himself. This is a picture of the boys when we reached the Lake. The water is WAY to cold to get into right now, but that didn't stop the boys from begging. The answer was NO.
This was the first break we took. Amazingly it was on the way back. Like I said...The boys did really well. I forgot how much I love to hike. I also forgot how much I miss home. It was so fun to be back in the valley and see so many amazing thins.
Daniel enjoyed the hike also. He just had to clim this tree. I secretly was cringing inside. I was worried. What if something happened to him and I had to hike almost a mile to help with a hurt husband and 2 young boys. Good thing he was fine. But someone please feel bad for me. Their is nothing girly about this family but me.

The next day we went up into the mountains and played in the snow. I didn't enjoy the snow much. We didn't go high enough so it was hard and icy. No snowmen...just snowballs.
Carter had a hard time making snowballs at first, but once he got the hang of it he was crazy. He could throw snow at mom, dad, and brother and not get into trouble.
Chase was a little more cautous. I think because he is small and sinks to the waist easily. I love you chase...you are just so cute!

POTTY TRAINING!

He is really doing it! I can't believe it! He is so strong willed it seemed a little crazy for me to even start, but I am so glad I did. He only had 3 accidents last week! We are well on our way. I am officially done buying diapers until the next one comes along. I am starting to feel spoiled. No more DIAPERS and 6 HOURS alone every week.

He was really excited to show off his undies and get a picture of them.  You can also see how skinny he is.  They don't make undies small enough to fit him.  I wash in hot water and dry to a crisp trying to shrink them.
